This workshop will be to help students better understand what the game of the scene is and quicker ways of finding it. Do your scenes often end up spiraling out of control, or end up being unfocused and entering into crazytown? This workshop will help you pace out your scene and create a roadmap with your scene partner so the destination is more clear.

Is your worst nightmare as a writer staring at a blank page? If so, learn how to create content through improvisation. So often we judge our work before it's time to do so -- how many people do you know who've said they want to write a book, and how many actually have done it? In this workshop, we will withhold judgement during the ideating process, get out of our heads and on our feet, and improvise as much content as possible.
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 4 2PM-5PM | Limit 16 Students
This class, taught by Philip Markle, former Director of the Annoyance Theatre in NY, aims to light your improvisation on fire. It will help remind you what you love about improv, slap you out of whatever fear is holding you back, and cut out the naysaying voices in your head that cloud your inspiration. We will look at how we sometimes censor or bail on our choices out of a need to make the “right choice" when improvising. Instead, let's agree that there is no right or wrong choice, only a weak or strong one, and see what happens when we give ourselves the freedom to simply trust and commit to whatever comes up.
SATURDAY/SUNDAY, SEPT 2-3 10AM-4PM | Limit 16 Students

Not a traditional voice class, instead, we want to look at how you as a human being can create art that reflects what you want to say to the world. Of course we can do improv scenes about anything, but a playwright is able to choose their subject. This class guides you to examine what you really would like to improvise about.
