SUMMER INTENSIVE
June 22 - 26
Learn the basics of sketch comedy in a 5 day intensive setting!
Participate in subtle to "over the top" character development exercises with legendary actor and improviser Craig Cackowski. You’ll never be accused of “always playing yourself” again.
Learn the JTS Brown from legendary actor and improviser Craig Cackowski. This improv form emphasizes physical transformation, dream logic and unconditional team support.
MONDAYS
Create characters and worlds that combine to form a unified 25-minute longform improv piece.
TUESDAYS.
Building on the skills of 301’s game-driven longform, this class introduces students to openings and group games as key components of the Harold structure, a cornerstone improv form.
TUESDAYS.
Learn the core concepts of longform comedic improv. Students will cover scene-work mechanics and heightening the game of the scene.
THURSDAYS
Create characters and worlds that combine to form a unified 25-minute longform improv piece.
SATURDAYS
Learn the core concepts of longform comedic improv. Students will cover scene-work mechanics and heightening the game of the scene.
SUMMER INTENSIVE
July 13th - 17th
Learn the basics of improv comedy in a 5 day intensive setting!
MONDAYS
Continued exploration of writing sketch comedy. Learn additional common sketch structures, and workshop sketches weekly.
WEDNESDAYS
Learn how to write specifically for the stage—taking advantage of and working within the constraints of an in-person, live show.

July 20th - 24th
Learn the basics of sketch comedy in a 5 day intensive setting!

METTLESOME LAB
Mettlesome Lab is the home of the very best improv and sketch comedy classes in the Triangle. Whether just starting out or regularly performing, these classes are a welcoming and fun place to learn new skills. We pride ourselves on our structured curriculum which focuses on strong, comedic scene work. Our teachers are all veteran performers well-versed in the comedy schools of thought and vetted by members of the Mettlesome board to ensure the highest quality and best possible learning experience.
