Building on the skills of 301’s game-driven longform, this class introduces students to openings and group games as key components of the Harold structure, a cornerstone improv form.
During this workshop, we’ll work on making sure our ideas off the back line are really supporting the scene and not ourselves.
Learn the basics of participating in musical improv scenes and making up songs on the spot.
We've been told don't fight, don't teach, don't do a transaction in an improv scene - but how can we make these scenes feel successful?
Identify and execute genre through character, story and song style, leaning into musical tropes.
We'll focus on improved scene-song connection, techniques for creating powerful characters, and character wants that make songs flow.
A crash course in creating solo character work for sketch.
