Advanced Harold: Jack Reitz

SATURDAY/SUNDAY, SEPT 2-3 10AM-4PM

Take a deep dive into the Harold. This two day workshop will look at using premise-based openings can kickstart your Harolds to greater exploration later in the piece. Are your second beats all time dashes? Feel like you’re getting edited as soon as your game gets off the ground? Follow-the-follower group games just feel like a bunch of crazy people yelling, vomiting, and killing someone? Then this class is for you. 

Jack has coached the DSI Harold teams Mavis Beacon, Blandly Handsome, and Lost Colony. He studied Harold at UCB in NYC with Sean Diston, Will Hines, Lydia Hensler, and Brandon Scott Jones. 

Prerequisites: A working understanding of Harold structure is required to take this course.

ABOUT JACK REITZ

Jack Reitz is an actor, writer, and improvisor based Durham, NC. He has been studying improv since 2004, first with the DSI Comedy theater in Chapel Hill, NC, and then with the UCB Theater and The Magnet Theater in NYC. 

Jack has appeared on stage in Durham, Chicago, and NYC and in various film work including spots for MTV. For the past five year he has toured nationally and internationally as part of Catharsis Productions' show "Sex Signals," which uses scripted and improvisational comedy to address issues of sexual assault in the military and on college campuses. He is currently the host of Our State Magazine's Secrets of the Triad Series.

Jack Reitz is a founding stakeholder of Mettlesome and recently directed Two Months In - An Original Sketch Comedy Revue. He directs the show Golden Age and can be seen performing with Hush Hush. 

Jack has studied with Will Hines, T. J. Jagadowski, Lydia Hensler, Brandon Scott Jones, Rick Andrews, Jeris Donovan, and Paula Pazderka.
