Free Teen Improv Workshop: Taking the First Step

Course Description:
Have you ever been in a conversation and been hesitant to speak up? Are you looking for new ways to engage with a group? This workshop will give you the tools you need to be more comfortable in your skin through shared group improv scenes and games!

Age Range:
Individuals who are 12 to 17 years old.

Cost:
Free! But please register below to reserve your spot.

Prequisites:
None needed.

What Should I Bring?
Bring a full water bottle. Wear comfy clothes and shoes fit for movement.

Instructor:
Cary LaMay has been teaching improv since 2011. He has performed in both shortform and longform improv at various venues and festivals across the East Coast. Since 2017, he has served as a judge at the North Carolina High School Improv Competition.

Cary has taught improv to groups both young and old including a Pre-K class, Girl Scouts, college students, and corporate employees. His greatest appreciation for improv lies in its ability to impart lessons such as listening, acceptance, and teamwork that can be applied to various aspects of life beyond the theater!
