WORKSHOP: Intro to Musical Improv

Workshop Description: A visiting instructor from Empire, a musical improv comedy supergroup based in New York City and Buffalo, NY, will teach workshop participants the basics of participating in musical improv scenes and making up songs on the spot. A musical accompanist will provide live music during the workshop.

Prerequisite: Some previous improv experience.

Workshop Length: 2 hours

What Should I Bring? Wear comfy clothes and closed-toe shoes fit for movement. Please bring a notebook and pen/pencil. Bring a full water bottle.

About Empire:
Empire is a musical improv comedy supergroup based in New York City and Buffalo, NY. Each show is a completely improvised Broadway-inspired comedy musical where everything is made up on the spot: the songs, characters, storylines, even the “choreography!” Featuring performers whose credits include Netflix, Baby Wants Candy, and Off Book.
