Stakeholder: Josh Rowsey

Joshua “Rowdy” Rowsey was an underground North Carolina recording artist, actor/improviser, and writer featured on NPR, DJ Booth, Indy Week, and various national publications.

Rowdy was a founding member of the national hip hop collective No9to5 Music. He initiated the UNC-Chapel Hill cypher, and was nominated for an Indy Week award. Rowsey shared the stage with Rakim, Busta Rhymes, Murs, Snow Tha Product, Asher Roth, and a plethora of other national recording artists. He worked with BlackSpace, a Durham organization focused on inspiring and educating creative black youth. He also taught middle school in North Carolina Title ! schools, inspiring new generations with his bombastic personality and joyfulness.

We honor Josh’s legacy and will miss him forever.
