Workshop Description: In improv scenes, asking and responding to questions can be treacherous ground, but that doesn't mean we can't use them! This workshop explores the in's and out's of questions, how to navigate their pitfalls, and leverage their potential.

Why are questions difficult?

What makes a question good or bad?

When should one ask questions?

How should one respond to questions?

Prerequisite: Some improv experience.

Workshop Length: 2 hours

What Should I Bring? Wear comfy clothes and closed-toe shoes fit for movement. Please bring a notebook and pen/pencil. Bring a full water bottle.

Please read our Lab FAQ & Policies and Covid Policies before signing up for a class or workshop.

Instructor: Brent Cornelius (he/him) discovered his passion for improv in 2013 on the Georgia Tech improv troupe Let's Try This. Since then, he has continuously performed and studied under a variety of theaters and instructors, the mainstays being DSI, Mettlesome, ComedyWorx, and The PIT (Chapel Hill). He currently performs with Mettlesome's musical improv team Singamajig and Harold team No Consequences, as well as ComedyWorx's Armando team Capital City Culture Club and Black Sheep Comedy's Improvised Horror Movie.

He wants to dig deep into the art of improv and see things from every angle. He not only desires to continuously grow as a performer, but to share what he learns with others.
