201: Game of the Scene

Learn the core concepts of longform comedic improv. Students will cover scene-work mechanics like editing, tag-outs and heightening in the context of game of the scene. Over this seven-week period, we'll build the groundwork for comedic moves that will elevate your scenes.

Classes every Monday, January 8 - February 19. Showcase week of Feb 25 - Mar 2.

Prerequisites: Students are required to have taken Mettlesome's 101: Intro to Improv. Students wishing to apply for an exception (ie who have documented prior, relevant improv experience) may do so by emailing hello[at]thisismettlesome.com

INSTRUCTOR

Brandon ”Bam” Alston is an improvisor, actor, and writer from Raleigh, NC. He has been performing improv comedy since 2014, first with DSI Comedy Theater in Chapel Hill, NC and later spent years coaching, teaching, and performing with the Washington Improv Theater in Washington, DC. Bam can currently be seen with Hush Hush and Well Seasoned. He is a proud member of Mettlesome’s Board.
