She started directing in her thirties to have a stronger voice in collaboration with playwrights’ words. She taught at several universities—U of Southern CA Graduate Film, NYU, and U of Albany—and worked as guest artist in acting and directing at other universities. As a writer, she worked as a journalist, primarily for European magazines, traveling with her photographer/husband, Jeff Jacobson. She received a grant from the Berrilla Kerr Playwriting Award after submitting a one woman show Singer in the 1990s. She’s collaborated over with composers as a lyricist. Her poems have appeared in Poetry Says It Better, an anthology edited by Ellen Burstyn.
