Ever wondered what happens behind the scenes at Saturday Night Live? Even if you have no writing or comedy experience, you will be writing strong comedy sketches in no time!
In Sketch 101, students will learn the basics of sketch comedy. Over the six week course, we'll explore the principles of sketch structure, scene dynamics and characterization, and learn a variety of sketch formats.
Each week, students will get to put the lessons into practice with writing assignments, and will have the opportunity to give and receive feedback in an open writers' room workshop format.
Classes every Tuesday, May, 12th - June 16th from 7:00-9:30pm. The class showcase will be Saturday, June 20th (exact time TBD).
Please read our Lab FAQ & Policies and Covid Policies before signing up for a class or workshop.

Instructor: Kevin Delgado is a comedian, writer, improviser, and actor(jeez, what a renaissance man) based in North Carolina. He’s been doing comedy for over 20 years, which sounds impressive until you realize he started at only 11 years old. While other kids were worried about which Pokémon to start with(Charmander, the obvious choice). Delgado was preoccupied with bits and how to play the game of the scene... and Pokémon
He's trained and performed in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Charlotte, and Atlanta, and spent several years cutting his teeth in the Atlanta scene. You might have seen some of his work on Adult Swim.
Now in Durham, he performs, coaches, and teaches at Mettlesome(the best place). You can catch him being a goof on Mettlesketch every other month and every Friday with Hush Hush.
