Continued exploration of writing sketch comedy. Learn additional common sketch structures, and workshop sketches weekly.
Classes every Wednesday, October 22nd - December 10th from 7:00-9:30pm. (NO CLASS 11/26)
The course will culminate in a student show on the afternoon of Saturday, December 13th (exact time to be determined).

PREREQUISITES: Students are required to have taken Sketch 101: Intro to Comedy Writing within the last year. If you have any questions about this policy, you may contact us here.
CLASS REQUIREMENTS:
Students are required to attend 2 improv shows at Mettlesome during the course (students get into shows for free)
Students are allowed a maximum of 2 absences per course.

INSTRUCTOR: Kara Phelps
Kara is a North Carolina-based writer and performer. Her comedy pilot script was a 2023 Slamdance Screenplay Competition Quarterfinalist. She has worked with Emmy-winning Saturday Night Live writer Bryan Tucker and has studied or taken workshops with Lauren McGuire, The Groundlings, Achilles Stamatelaky, and Kevin McDonald of Kids in the Hall. Kara is currently a co-captain of Mettlesome's sketch comedy house team, Mettlesketch.
